1989 A - Chevrolet C1500 Choo Choo Custom Pickup
Click Photo (More Info.)
RARE OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A VERY LOW PRODUCTION TRUCK, MODIFIED AND RECERTIFIED BY A WELL KNOWN CUSTOM COACH COMPANY. 1989 CHEVROLET C1500 CHOO CHOO CUSTOM PICKUP TRUCK. CHOO CHOO CUSTOMS, CHATTANOOGA, TN., BEST KNOWN FOR EL CAMINOS, MODIFIED EVERY TYPE OF VEHICLES FROM CONVERSION VANS TO PASSENGER CARS. THIS TRUCK IS IN PRIMARILY THE SAME ORIGINAL, UNMOLESTED CONDITION AS WHEN IT LEFT CHOO CHOO CUSTOMS. PREVIOUS OWNER BOUGHT THE TRUCK IN 1990. METICULOUS STORAGE, CARE, AND MAINTENANCE THROUGHOUT THE YEARS.

The Chevrolet C series trucks were built from 1960-1999. That is a 39 year production run. The C series was finally replaced by the Silverado in 1999. Chevrolet has been at the forefront of design and performance since the beginning.

A new, more modern look came in 1967, along with a new nickname: "Action Line". It was with this revision of the C/K truck that General Motors expanded the option list of comfort and convenience items to a vehicle line that had previously been for work purposes alone. This has been referred to as the Golden Age of Chevy Trucks. 1967 was the beginning of the nation's true love affair with trucks.

Although revolutionary in 1973, by the mid eighties Chevrolet engineers realized a complete new redesign would be crucial. The result was the new generation model, known as the GMT400 platform. There was a drastic difference between the 3rd-generation and 4th-generation GM trucks, and the buying public realized this immediately. It is a success story that has transcended time, will continue beyond 2014.

The popularity of these trucks motivated many aftermarket custom coach companies to design and produce modified specialty versions of these vehicles. One of these companies was Choo Choo Customs Inc. in Chattanooga, TN. This company began building conversion vans in 1975. Best known for their collaboration with GM from 1983-1987, modifying Choo Choo El Caminos. Choo Choo went out of business in the mid 2000s. At that time, Honest Charley’s Speed Shop (also based out of Chattanooga , TN ) assumed a portion of Choo Choo’s employees and El Camino parts, which they still sell today. There is also a relatively new company, Choo-Choo Automotive Styling, advertising as the specialty parts division of Choo-Choo Customs Inc. It is unknown whether this is a division of Honest Charlie's, or a stand alone company.

Choo Choo customs also produced modified C and K series trucks until they closed their doors. Unlike the El Caminos, there are no published production figures on any other Choo Choo modified vehicles. One might assume that any Choo Choo example is a very limited production vehicle. Although basically an appearance package, this modification still sets this truck apart from the norm, and these are unique and highly desirable.

As with all unique vehicles, fakes are rampant in the hobby. The only positive verification of a Choo Choo Customs vehicle is the recertification tag in the rear portion of the driver door jam. The truck in this auction was modified and recertified in April, 1989, per the door tag.

Clean, straight body refinished in dark blue metallic. The well known Choo Choo exterior graphic designs, done in light blue metallic. Overall exterior appearance is very good. Paint is smooth and uniform, buffed to a glossy finish. A few minor driving flaws, such as minor chips and scratches that have been touched up. The rear passenger side bed stripe displays some minor fading and checking. The tailgate had some chips that were touched up. Otherwise, extremely good condition. Glass is in very good condition. The original tint film on the driver window is slightly delaminated. Slight wiper mar on windshield. Bumpers and exterior bright work in very good condition. Step bumper in the rear. Dual sport mirrors. Aluminum bed rails. Eagle polished wheels. Firehawk Indy 500 radial tires, P275/60R15. Sliding glass rear window. Choo Choo lower body kit and front facia. Choo Choo emblems on tail gate, rear window, and cab behind side windows.

Original 5.7 liter eight cylinder engine. Everything in the engine bay is in stock configuration, with the exception of mechanical and maintenance upgrades. Automatic transmission. Ten bolt rear differential. Power steering. Power disc brakes. Undercarriage is clean and solid as a rock, the result of lifetime Southern ownership.

Interior is in very good condition. One small crack in the dash. Seats, door panels, and dash display are in very good shape. Choo Choo wood trim accents. Original Choo Choo floor mats. Power windows, power door locks, air conditioning(compressor turns on, but needs to be recharged), tilt steering column, cruise control. Factory AM/FM/Cassette. Grant GT steering wheel. All seals, jam seals, and weatherstripping are soft and supple, in very good condition.

Search the internet for another Choo Choo Custom Truck like this. This is a rare opportunity to own a unique, eye catching truck. Don't let it pass you by.

1999 A - Dodge Durango Super Pursuit II
Click Photo (More Info.)
DODGE ENTHUSIASTS, STOP, READ THE AD, AND VIEW THE PHOTOS. EXTREMELY RARE AND UNIQUE SPORT UTILITY VEHICLE. 1999 DODGE DURANGO SUPER PURSUIT II. ORIGINALLY THE CREATION OF PERFORMANCE WEST GROUP, FOUNDED BY LARRY WEINER, AS THE SEMA SUPER PURSUIT CONCEPT VEHICLE. NEXT, CONVERTED INTO THE SHELBY SP360 FOR CHRYSLER CORPORATION, AVAILABE VIA SPECIAL ORDER TO THE PUBLIC. FINALLY, AT THE END OF FACTORY PRODUCTION, CONTINUED AS SUPER PURSUIT II, CONVERTED BY THE ORIGINAL SUB CONTRACT CONVERSION COMPANY, STAR COACH PERFORMANCE INC. BASICALLY AN SUV STREET MACHINE. MOPAR MUSCLE MAGAZINE, IN AN APRIL 01, 2000 ARTICLE, DECLARED THE STAR COACH SUPER PURSUIT II WAS A SUPERIOR VEHICLE TO THE ORIGINAL SHELBY SP360. LOOK CLOSELY AT THIS BEAUTY. DON'T MISS THE CHANCE TO OWN IT. WHEN WILL YOU SEE ANOTHER? HIGHWAY MILES. LOOKS AND DRIVES LIKE A 50,000 MILE TRUCK.

Race Truck Trends in California and Star Coach Performance in Georgia were the two major companies authorized by Dodge to perform the conversions. Most of the Durangos were shipped directly from the factory in Newark to either company depending on whether final delivery was for the Eastern US (Star Coach in GA) or the Western US (Race Truck Trends in CA.) They would "convert" the stock Durango into a SP360 and then shipped it on to the particular dealership where it was ordered.

When the factory production run ended, the two sub contractors stepped in. Star Coach continued to offer the package. However, due to trademark laws, they substituted some of the components with similar pieces. These include the hood, exhaust, and paint color. The SP360 was renamed the Super Pursuit II. This conversion could be personalized with any component of the SP360 package that the customer desired. They also offered some additional options that weren't available on the original SP360 package. They even offered a factory warranty. Star Coach offered this package until they went bankrupt in 2003. These units, of course, did not have the serialized dash plaques. It is unknown whether Race Truck Trends ever offered the complete package, but they sold various SP360 components and parts.

Although the Super Pursuit II is not a "factory" SP360, it is still an extremely close cousin. Also, although not quite as rare as the original, it is still a unique find.

Don't miss this opportunity. This is the equivalent of finding the proverbial needle in a haystack.

Clean, straight body finished in the original Intense Blue Pearl Metallic. (Star Coach could not offer Viper Blue, due to Shelby trademarks). Paint is original, except for front and rear facia, which have been repainted due to driving chips and scratches. Paint is smooth and uniform, and shines to a mirror gloss. Complete Shelby style body kit, including front and rear valance panels, side skirts with molded running boards, and rear wing. Custom finned front grille. Dual color coded sport mirrors. Deep tinted windows with tinted wind wings. Fog lamps. Custom 18" wheels with Sumitomo HTR Sport radial tires. Fit, finish, and gapping on all panels is very good. Dual exhaust cutouts in rear bumper panel. Tow package. Rear window wiper.

5.9 liter engine. Fuel injected. Aluminum intake manifold. Four speed automatic transmission. Four wheel drive. Power steering. Power disc brakes. The frame, suspension, etc. is extremely clean and solid as a rock.

The cabin in this beauty is loaded with comfort and convenience options. Gray leather bucket seat interior with Ram insignias. Front bucket seats with center console. Driver seat is power operated. Complete interior is clean and in very good condition. Seats are plush and supple. Door panels, headliner, dash, and carpet in very good shape. Second row bucket seats with jump seat console. Third row bench seat. Power windows, door locks, and mirrors. Tilt steering column and cruise control. Tachometer. Water temperature, oil pressure, and amp gauges. Air conditioning front and rear. Rear window defogger. Sony AM/FM/MP3 player. Reclining seats.

Though the odometer shows higher mileage, this vehicle has been well maintained and cared for since new. The miles are from highway driving. Currently runs and drives like a lightly used truck.

You won't find another vehicle like this, in this condition, at this price. Don't hesitate on this one.

1972 A - Dodge D100
Click Photo (More Info.)
GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR THE CLASSIC AND VINTAGE VEHICLE ENTHUSIASTS. 1972 DODGE D100 PICKUP TRUCK. MODIFIED STREET MACHINE. CHRYSLER IMPACT COLOR, NICELY BUILT MOPAR SMALL BLOCK, FOUR SPEED TRANSMISSION, COMFORTABLE INTERIOR. THIS IS A CHANCE TO STAND OUT IN THE SEA OF CHEVELLES, MUSTANGS, AND CAMAROS THAT APPEAR AT EVERY CAR CRUISE AND CAR SHOW. MAY NOT BE EVERYONE'S CUP OF TEA, BUT FOR THE DEDICATED MOPAR FAN, OR ENTHUSIASTS THAT PREFER SOMETHING UNIQUE, HERE IS YOUR TRUCK. TRUCKS LIKE THESE ARE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN.

The Dodge D100 Pickup was the predecessor to the wildly popular Dodge Rams. These trucks were manufactured from 1961 until 1980. The first two generations of this model were a basic, no frills workmanlike vehicle, although Dodge is credited with first Crew Cab four door style for a pickup in 1963. The first generation of the D series trucks were actually manufactured in Argentina, by subsidiary Chrysler-Fevre Argentina S.A.

Even though Dodge built a new pickup each year, they seemed to always retain the same basic appearance, concentrating on interior refinements and other details. By 1970, this design began to appear outdated.

There was an attempt to spice up the line with the introduction of the specialty option, "Dodge Dude". This model was only offered in 1970 and 1971. Only 1,500-2,000 units were sold. The writing was on the wall, and for the 1972 model year the third generation D100 was introduced.

This model was a complete redesign of the D Series. This generation lasted from 1972 until 1980, and introduced a more rounded look, similar to the 1973–1987 GM trucks. This basic design for the third generation actually lasted until the 1993, rebadged as Dodge Ram, a continuous run of the same basic design for 21 years. However, there were several improvements over the years,, included new features such as an independent front suspension and pocketed tail lights(the distinctive reverse on top lights were recessed to .25 in (6.4 mm) to avoid damage in loading docks and confined spaces). Styling cues, such as the scalloped hood and rounded fenderwells, were similar to the rounded, smooth look of the 1971 Plymouth Satellite. These trucks were built with a considerable amount of galvanized steel to resist rust and corrosion making them very durable. Because of this, today these trucks make great restoration projects.

Dodge also pioneered the extended cab pickup with the introduction of the Club Cab with the 1972 models. This was a two-door cab with small rear windows which had more space behind the seats than the standard cab, but not as long as the four door Crew Cab. 1972 also saw the introduction of the 440 cu in engine as an option for the light trucks.

The 1972 D Series was made famous in the television show, "Emergency!" where it was the featured paramedic rescue squad vehicle for the entire seven seasons of the popular show.

Everyone knows the ending to the story. In 1994, Dodge introduced the most revolutionary and modern vehicle in the history of pickup truck design, the 1994 Dodge Ram. However, without the research and development of the D Series through the years, it is unlikely the modern Ram would have been as well designed and immensely popular as the truck is currently .

Very straight, all steel body. Refinished in Sublime. This is one of the Dodge impact colors from the muscle car era. In fact, Chrysler had resurrected the color for use in new Chargers and Challengers. Vehicle was painted approximately 10 years ago. Some typical minor driving flaws, chips and scratches that have been touched up. One minor area of bubbling on bottom of passenger door. Minor bubbling at the bottom of the bed panels. Overall paint quality is good/ very good. Blacked out hood. Daytona rear stripe. Dual sport mirrors. Chrome is in very good condition. The driver tail light bezel has some pitting, but the remaining bright work, bumpers, etc. are in very good shape. All glass is in very good condition. Grille is in good condition also. Weld Drag Star wheels, deep dish in the rear. New BF Goodrich radial tires all around.

Chrysler A-833 four speed transmission. Vintage Hurst shifter. Both the transmission and shifter were removed from a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner. The shifter was nicknamed "swizzle stick" or "wiggle stick" due to the wide throw of the shifter. Even when new, shifting with these could be a challenge. This shifter has been used, so there is considerable play in it. However, this is a very expensive shifter that sells on Ebay for $500 and up complete. Bushing kits are available to rebuild these units. Power steering. Power brakes. Coil over shocks in the front. Air shocks in the rear. Undercarriage is not detailed. However, it is clean and solid.

Leather bucket seat interior. Power driver seat. Inside of cab has also been refinished in Sublime. Seats, cushions, and covers are in good condition. Steering wheel, dash, and carpet are also in good condition. Original passenger door panel in good condition. Original driver door panel has a repair, but it is acceptable. Alternator, water temperature, fuel, and oil pressure gauges. Factory AM radio. Seat belts.

For those of you searching for a unique, stand alone vehicle, this is the truck for you. Don't hesitate.

1984 A - Chevrolet C10 Stepside Pickup
Click Photo (More Info.)
THIS TRUCK AT FIRST GLANCE MAY APPEAR TO BE ANOTHER GENERIC '80'S GM PICKUP, BUT IT'S NOT. RARE CANADIAN BUILT TRUCK WITH FACTORY MUNCIE FOUR SPEED. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SAW ONE WITH THE FACTORY FOUR SPEED? 1984 WAS THE FIRST YEAR THAT THE FOUR SPEED WAS AVAILABLE AS AN OPTION. 1984 WAS A MILESTONE YEAR FOR THE CHEVROLET TRUCK DIVISION. THE DESIGN DEPARTMENT HAD BEEN WORKING SINCE 1973 TO REFINE THE THIRD GENERATION TRUCK, AND THE 1984-1987 MODELS REPRESENT THE VERY BEST OF THIS GENERATION. CHEVROLET UNDERSTOOD THAT SINCE 1967, THE PICKUP TRUCK WAS GRADUALLY BECOMING AMERICA'S EVERY DAY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION. MORE AND MORE CONSUMERS WERE TRADING OFF THEIR CARS AND BUYING PICK UP TRUCKS, AND THEY RESPONDED WITH A WORK OF ART ON FOUR WHEELS. THIS IS A 1984 CHEVROLET C10 STEPSIDE TRUCK. THE TRUCK IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. MILDLY BUILT SMALL BLOCK ENGINE. CLEAN, SOLID, DRIVER QUALITY TRUCK.

The Chevrolet C series trucks were built from 1960-1999. That is a 39 year production run. The C series was finally replaced by the Silverado in 1999. Chevrolet has been at the forefront of design and performance since the beginning. The 1960 model year introduced a new body style of light pick-up truck that featured many firsts. Most important of these were a drop-center ladder frame, allowing the cab to sit lower, and independent front suspension, giving an almost car-like ride in a truck. Also new for 1960 was a new labeling system for trucks made by GM. Gone were the 3100,3200, and 3600 designations. The Chevrolet was now a C series in two wheel drive and K in four wheel drive. The original C10 emblem on the 1960 version escalated to the C1500 as the generations developed.

It was no longer necessary to own both a car for recreation and a pickup for work. It was now possible to order any comfort and convenience option on the pickup. One vehicle now performed the duties of two! Finally, with the third generation platform, Chevrolet satisfied the needs of the progressive truck owners.

An all-new clean sheet redesign of General Motors' Chevrolet and GMC brand C/K-Series pickups débuted in mid-1972 for the 1973 model year. Development of the new third-generation trucks began in 1968 with vehicle components undergoing simulated testing on computers before the first prototype pickups were even built for real world testing. The redesign was completely unique in appearance at the time, particularly the cab, departing from typical American pickup truck designs of the era. Although revolutionary in 1973, by the mid eighties Chevrolet engineers realized a complete new redesign would be crucial. In 1984, Chevy made changes to the front end of the truck, the only major area of change in 15 years of production. Quadruple headlights were made optional. As stated previously, 1984 was also the first year the Muncie four speed transmission was made available. The design of the truck began to emphasize styling. These changes paved the way for the release of the revolutionary generation four model, known as the GMT400 platform. There was a seamless transition between the 3rd-generation and 4th-generation GM trucks, and the buying public realized this immediately. It is a success story that has transcended time, will continue beyond 2014.

The solid Southern body has been refinished in Dark Royal Blue paint. This is not a 100 point show truck. The finish is smooth and uniform, buffed to a decent gloss. Keep in mind that this is older paint that has some patina from age. Some minor body work has been done in a few areas. The very bottom area near the body lips on the cab corners. Also, there is a spot on the roof, on the rear driver's side that was slightly damaged and has been worked. There are some minor driving chips and scratches that have been touched up. However, the body is rock solid. Dual chrome sport mirrors. Tasteful pin striping has been applied on the doors and tail gate. Glass is in good shape all around. Bumpers are original and in good condition. Remaining trim and bright work also in good condition. Sliding rear window. Weld style polished wheels. Falken ZIEX radial tires, P265/70R16. Oak bed in good shape. Tail gate opens and closes easily. Grille is in good shape.

The Chevrolet Monza was a sub compact four passenger car built from 1975-1980, to compete primarily with the Mustang II. The Buick Skyhawk and Oldsmobile Starfire were the other H body models from GM, but the Monza was the most popular. It was the successor to the Vega. The Spyder nameplate was originally used to designate the 1962-1964 Corvair turbocharged model. The 'Spyder' name was introduced for the Chevrolet Monza in 1976. This package included performance equipment and some small appearance items, depending on the choice of Spyder Equipment or Spyder Appearance, or both. For 1980, the option designation was consolidated to the Spyder Equipment Package, with both appearance and performance options. BR70-13C steel-belted radial ply blackwall tires (with option for raised white lettering), Sport suspension, Black front and rear bumper rub strips, Black headlights frames, Black windshield, belt, side and rear window moldings (not available with black exterior), Black painted body sill (also not available with black exterior), Black door and center pillar louvers, Black painted taillight frames, Body color front air dam and rear spoiler, Spyder emblems on front facia, rear lock cover and sport steering wheel (horn button insert), Black sport mirrors (LH remote, RH manual), Rear Spoiler and body stripes with Spyder lettering outlined in accent body colour, Spyder hood decal, Black painted Rally II wheels with bright trim rings and center caps.
